In 2001, Jack started as an associate at the insurance defense firm of Hall Booth Smith, PC in Atlanta, Georgia. After only 5.5 years, he became a partner in the firm and focused his practice on medical malpractice, business litigation and professional negligence. In 2009, Jack opened the Charleston office of HBS and, as managing partner, grew the office to 26 attorneys before departing in 2021.  While at HBS, Jack tried cases to verdict in 7 different states and was involved in the defense of complex suits all over the country. He gained significant exposure to a wide variety of issues in general civil, trucking, nursing home, product liability and professional negligence litigation as well as class action litigation.

In 2021, Jack moved his practice to Dodds Hennessy & Stith, LLC to focus on conducting mediations and arbitrations.Using the negotiation and mediation skills he gained in his years as a litigator, Jack's current practice is predominantly focused on handling mediations and arbitrations. In addition to his ADR activities, he maintains a practice in complex litigation (both plaintiff and defense), real estate transactions and witness preparation.
